Online TIN (Tax Identification Number) Application For Foreign Citizens And Newborns.

The request for the Tax Identification Number (TIN) is now temporarily available online. The measure, taken by the Tax and Customs Authority, came about due to the exceptional situation caused by COVID-19.

Foreign citizens no longer need to go to a finance service to apply for a TIN. Thus, while the exceptional situation is in force, requests for TINs by foreign citizens are made through E-Balcão, by a tax representative (citizen residing in Portugal).

The request for a TIN for babies, since the Nascer Cidadão spaces have been suspended, can also be done online at E-Balcão.
